Question: What is a home inspection?
Answer: A home inspection is a comprehensive visual examination of the home’s overall structure, major systems and components. Mark Nicholet from Apple Home Inspections will review the subject building as a system, looking at how one component of the home might affect the operability or lifespan of another. Components that are not performing properly will be identified, as well as items that are beyond their useful life or are unsafe. The purpose of the home inspection is to provide the client with a better understanding of the property conditions, as observed at the time of the inspection.
Consumer Protection BC ‘s website states: A home inspection is an educational process which is designed to reduce a consumer’s risk when buying a home.

In all honesty, Mark’s custom reports include narrative descriptions, implications and recommendations. He will take several pictures and identify issues for you. Not to mention, Mark has over 1700 illustrations available from the Carson Dunlop illustrated home library to help explain any concerns. All home inspection reports are available and securely stored online within 24 hours of the inspection.
Apple Home Inspections strongly encourages clients to accompany the inspector during the home inspection.
You should feel free to ask any questions you may have during the home inspection. I will point out problems and explain them to you. I will also show you the good points of the home. I will explain any routine maintenance required to keep the house in top condition. This will help you understand the systems that make up your home and how to maintain them.
Apple Home Inspections provides longer more thorough inspections.
The home inspection industry standard is approximately 2-3 hours per. I spend more time on site (4-6 hours) collecting data providing a more thorough inspection. I enter areas that other inspectors may not go including leopard crawling in attics and or crawlspaces.
At Apple Home Inspections, Makr is happy to include recall check with every home inspection he performs. Recall check performs a thorough examination of over 195 million recalled appliances as listed by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. As part of your home inspection I will take note of the appliances make and model number. I then enter the appliance information into the Recall check database and then notify you of any current recalls including how to get the appliance repaired free of charge by the manufacturer. Please contact me anytime fore more information on my recall check service or to schedule an inspection.
Inspecting is Mark’s passion not just a career.
Mark believes in providing you with a home inspection service the RIGHT way the first time.
