The Inspector shall inspect fireplace and solid fuel burning system components; vent systems and chimneys.

The Inspector shall describe fireplaces and solid fuel burning appliances.

The Inspector is not required to inspect interior of flues or chimneys; screens, doors and dampers; seals and gaskets; automatic fuel feed devices; heat distribution systems whether fan-assisted or convection.

The Inspector is not required to ignite or extinguish fires or pilot lights; determine draft characteristics; move fireplace inserts, stoves, or firebox contents.
